This is one of my favorite spots in Forest City! Great atmosphere here and the staff is amazing. At the bar, we have Super cold beers and drinks made right. The food is always a piece culinary heaven.
How cool is this. We ate here once on September 2021. We are inside then and our waitress was brand new. We ate outside this time and had the same wonderful waitress. (I am terrible with names but she is adorable and has a black rose tattoo...) Service is wonderful. Food is wonderful. My husband absolutely loves the shrimp tacos. The first thing he said when I told him it was time for another road trip to NC was that he wanted to eat there again. If you live in the area you probably aren't reading a review (unless you work there) because you already know this place. If you are traveling and passing anywhere near here it is a great place to eat. They just opened a 4th location, but I think they are not a franchise. We have only eaten in Forest City but I would think their other locations are probably just as good. Forest City's outdoor patio is dog friendly. (I request all my stuff on the side but they probably don't typically serve their burgers deconstructed, lol)
Absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It's really amazing, they converted an old warehouse into a massive dining center but divided into rooms so you don't feel like you are in a big cavernous space. The decor and atmosphere is wonderful. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS. The biggest problem is trying to decide what to order because they offer a vast selection and everything I tasted was excellent. Try to go with a big group so you can get a taste of various appetizers and entrees. And finally the service. Our waitress was attentive, funny, helpful and absolutely amazing, it made the experience even better. I just moved to this area and The Copper Penny Grill has quickly become my favorite dining spot in this whole area.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We did have to wait a unusual length of time before being greeted and taken to a table and then waited an overly long time for the food to come, but it was delicious. Our server was sweet and friendly too. To the mgmt: I looked around to speak to someone but couldn't find someone on my way out to bring this up... The ladies bathroom sink on the left side is scalding hot! It is literally billowing steam. When I turned on the faucet to wash my hands I actually let out a scream and jumped back. My hand was bright red for awhile. I can't imagine this not having already been reported, but just in case, I'm letting you know that it's a very real danger!
My son took me to this place for lunch. The atmosphere inside was very rustic. The personnel was very friendly. We had Rachel as our server she was very pleasant to talk to and she knew the menu pretty much inside out. My son had a bowl of chili and a glass of orange juice I had the grilled cheese sandwich with a Nashville chicken soup. The food was good the service was good and Rachel was outstanding. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
Service was great! Friendly and attentive. The food was good but I regret not getting the Mahi Tacos. Other than my poor choices great experience. We randomly blew into town and will have to come back. The whole town is a cozy place. Good for a dinner date night. We also got a free drink because they made one too many. Good prices too. Two thumbs up.
Have been eating here fairly regularly. Food is good and service is great. Update: I have been there multiple times since my first review and they have only gotten better. I even ordered the same dish (Panini) recently that I got my first visit and it was really good. Old: Only three stars but I am going to give them another chance one of these days (I want them to do well, we need good places to go in town). Went there for dinner awhile back, party of four. Decor and service are excellent. Food was okay but I expected better. My sandwich,Turkey and Brie Panini, was dry and not much flavor, other in my party enjoyed their food more than I did.
We stop in Forest city on the way to the mountains just to go to copper penny. Best steaks we’ve ever had, always amazing friendly and hospitable service. We’ve traveled from Monroe to Copper Penny just as a date night at this place! It’s “our secret spot”
As part of my quest to spend time in all 100 NC counties, I stopped in Forest City for a late lunch and to catch up on some work. I tried the April flatbread with an ice cold Barq's root beer. It was SO good and filling. My server, Jamie, was fabulous! I even had a nice spot where I could charge my laptop but the city wifi was spotty. Will definitely come back!
We were down for a family reunion, this place was recommended to us. We were happy we went. It was busy and we still got seated right away. The food and environment was great. I got the Cajun chicken Alfredo, my wife got the Cesar salad, my daughter got the Mac and cheese kids meal. We all liked what we got. My Alfredo needed a little bit of salt but was still great. Chicken was tender to cut. The fries from the kids meal were easily the best French fries I've ever had.
